Garnomeras Durkslag in English!

First of all, excuse my bad English. Hopefully you understand the pattern anyway 😁

This shawl reminds me of my old blue colander and colander in swedish is, Durkslag. Thats why I call it: Garnomeras Durkslag.

I used the amazing Malabrigo Lace, 89 gr.
I knitted with my sharp HiyaHiya 5mm.

Abbreviations:

k=knit
p=purl
yo= yarn over
co=cast on
sts=stitch/stitches
sl=slip
k2tog= knit 2 together
tbl= through back loop
ssk= slip, slip, knit together through back loop
kfb= knit in front and back of the stitch
pfb= purl in front and back of the stitch
RS=right side
WS= wrong side

With Provisional Cast On, co 4 sts.
Knit an I cord, 11 rows.
Keep the 4 sts on right needle, pick up 9 sts along the side. Pick up 3 sts from the provisional cast on, knit the 3 sts. Total 16 sts.
WS. Sl 4 with yarn in front, pfb x 8, p4. Total 24.

This shawl has an I cord along both sides. Every row starts with sl 4 sts. From the RS with yarn in back and from the WS with yarn in front. In the end of every row you knit them in stockinette stitch.
From now on I will not include this edge stitches in the pattern. You will have to remember this.

R1-6. Knit 6 rows in stockinette stitch, start at the RS.
R7. K1fb x 16. = 32sts.
R8. Purl.
R9-11. Knit.
R12. Purl.
This was the set up rows.

The Eyelet rows will be numbered and between every Eyelet row you knit as follow:
R1. Knit
R2. Purl
R 3-5. Knit
R6. Purl

There is two kinds of Eyelet row, one with increase and one without.

ER1. Eyelet rows with increase.
RS. *K2tog, 2yo, ssk* x 8.
WS. In the 2yo: p1,k1,p1. Purl the rest. = 40 sts

ER2. Eyelet rows with increase.
RS. *K2tog, 2yo, ssk* x 10.
WS. In the 2yo: p1,k1,p1. Purl the rest. = 50 sts

ER3. Eyelet rows with increase.
RS. K1*K2tog, 2yo, ssk* x 12, k1.
WS. In the 2yo: p1,k1,p1. Purl the rest. = 62

ER22 – 24. Eyelet rows without increase.
RS. K1 *K2tog, 2yo, ssk* x 87, k1.
WS. In the 2yo: p1,k1. Purl the rest. = 350

Knit 2 rows of stockinette stitch.

I cord bind off

Start knitting at the edge.
K3, k2tog tbl, Sl 4sts back to left needle x 3.

*k4, sl4 sts back to right needle x8. K3, k2tog tbl, sl4 sts back to left needle x8*
Continue until you have 8 sts left, 4 on each needle. Make an 3needle bind off

Sew in ends and block, I like the shape of a big smile when blocking.
